All my life, I have struggled with my weight. In fact, in runs in the family.
By 2004, I had finally had enough. Although single at the time, I knew that once I did finally meet that special someone, I didn't want to feel as though I was a fat bride. I also wanted to be able to chase the kids I would have with that special someone, and be able to do fun things with them.
May 2004, I topped the scales at 220 pounds wearing a size 20. I had heard about South Beach Diet, and realized it wasn't a diet, but a change in my way of life. I made the decision to begin my weight loss journey. I had an original goal to reach 150 pounds.
By 2005, I had lost 56 pounds. The scale had finally seen 164 pounds, and I was able to wear size 10 clothes. With only 14 pounds to go until my goal, I was so excited to be feeling better about myself, that I lost some of my motivation. I have managed to keep most of the weight off, but with a busy life, and of course the holidays having just been here, I was back up to 180 pounds at the start of 2010.
On January 4, 2010, I got serious with the South Beach Diet again, and have managed to lose 6 pounds. The weight is not coming off as quickly as it once did, so I want to add a workout routine to my efforts.
Stats as of February 1, 2010
Ultimate Goal: Reach a goal weight of 150 pounds and have visible muscle definition.
I am excited to have fellow Knotties to keep me motivated with my efforts. Good luck to the rest of the ladies.
